Hi!

I got this type of error on a WAMP server...

----------------------------------------------------
The problem may be the variable "statspath" in your config.php file.

The data file being looked for is awstats20091.mysite.com.txt in folder /cgi-bin/
-----------------------------------------------

I try:
/cgi-bin/
/www/cgi-bin/
C:/www/cgi-bin/
C:\www\cgi-bin\ (GOT A WHITE PAGE ?!?)

Always the same error...

Does JAWSTATS work in windows ... or not yet ?

Thank you for help

JAWStats has worked on Windows from day one.

The following setting works for me:
C:/folder/subfolder/subsubfolder/

I too have intalled onto a windows server only to find I get the error.

I have also tried the c:/folder/subfolder/ idea and I simply get a load of code displayed...

I will continue to change the config where I can but any other pointers would help...

Thank you

As the popularlity of this project rises, the more I need to write a troubleshooting guide; that's this weekend sorted then, I guess. :)

If you're seeing code outputted to your browser, are you sure you have PHP installed?

I have installed php using the windows installer, rebooted as requested, and then navigated to the jawstats site. I get the statspath error again. I have added the statsname value to the config as awstats[MM][YYYY].txt but it reports the file being looked for is awstats20091.txt.

if I carry out the change suggested and add '/' to the end of the line i get '/style.css" type="text/css" />' displayed along with other code lines.

if I add the '\' instead i get a blank page...

You should never see code output to the screen. Can you confirm your PHP installation is working correctly by doing a phpinfo() [see: http://uk2.php.net/phpinfo], please.

(p.s. I'm sorry if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs with these messages)

Not teaching me to suck eggs. This is all new to me.

Right...If i leave the '\' at the end of the statsoath line i get a blank screen. When removed I see... PHP Version 5.2.8 and a wealth of information. Are you after anything in particular?

Ah, now I understand what is going on. A backslash (\) is an escape character in PHP - use forward slashes instead (/). Please do keep me informed here or by email, this is all good for future documentation.

Ok...Done that, but still get the code displayed.
The error looks like this...
The file being looked for is: awstats20091.cmsintranet.txt
The folder being looked in is: C:/Inetpub/cmsintranet/AWStats/stats_data
Try changing the folder to: C:/Inetpub/cmsintranet/AWStats/stats_data/

but adding the ...stats_data/ causes the code to be displayed.

OK, I'm confused again. When you say, it "gives me the code", can you cut and paste that here for me too (or email if you prefer)

Well that's got me scratching my head. It surely has to be a PHP configuration issue but it's not something I've seen before.

As I don't know what web server you are using, trying google'ing for 'test php installation' or similar and see what you find. As much as I want to help, you really need to be sure PHP is running properly first and I'm not convinced at present it is.

My php server is ok ... I have egroupware and phpbb3(forum) and both working fine...

I try this:
i moved awstats.mysite.com.conf and awstats012009.mysite.com.txt to another folder....

but still fail...

I rename the file: awstats20091.mysite.com.txt and now working... the statsname doesnt seem to works in windows..or i dont understand how it's work...

--------------------------------------
"statsname" => "awstats[MM][YYYY].www.mysite.com.txt",
------------------------------------

Your demo work fine with firefox on your site... but on my wamp server i only see the header on all the section... Same on another computer... In Internet Explorer all work fine exept for "searches" only see the header... but in my awstat i see it...

Can it be a problem with french character "éèôç..."

I have access to a wamp server that I've not previously tested on. I just installed a fresh copy of JAWstats (two minutes ago) and it worked absolutely fine (firefox, chrome, IE) first time.

Can you download a fresh copy of JAWStats and try that. The software was patched earlier this week (http://www.jawstats.com/community/thread24 - see post number 15) so if you have an earlier version if the code, it isn't going to work.

Sorry Subzero, I've just re-read your post and I think I missed something. Is it possible I could have the URL to your stats page, please, so I can see it? (Email is fine...)

Hello, were you able to get any further with this?

I have noticed that when I get the page of php code displayed I get an error - 'g_sCurrentView' is undefined. does this help?

Got it working..... Not too sure what I changed, but it is nearly there.

I am missing the graphs at the top of the page though, so battling on.
gbrigden

Got the graphs to display.....needed to install Flash.

Now to sort out the banner - it covers half of the tabs so it makes it difficult to read the tab names.
joncombe

Sorry for the lack of support, gbrigden, it's software release time at work, we're flat out.

The graphs (currently) need the Adobe Flash player installed.
