| karamorf 561 days ago | When I added in multi language support into my custom jawstats I did notice one thing you should know about. AWStats url_encodes search terms that are in other languages, so in the function for keywords/keyphrases you might want to put the text through a url_decode function (decodeURI in javascript). |

I'm still adding more all the time unfortunately, I am sorry for this as it must be annoying for you all. I've tried to make it easier though, I just added a button this evening that shows the missing translations more clearly, I hope this helps. Thanks again to everyone for their hard work. |

| karamorf 554 days ago | No problem, though I wont be able to translate all of them for you ... I have changed some of the language and I don't actually know Japanese, I'm just using the English to Japanese mapping I already have.
For example, we change the 'Status' tab to 'HTTP Status codes' to be a bit more descriptive ... I'll finish up the rest of them tomorrow, it will be a good Friday project. Are you interested in seeing the version of JAWStats I put together Jon? |

Couple of things if you wanted to make that form easier to use: The text box does not need to be so big, if its one word then there is no need for 5 lines for the text box. This just adds extra mouse movement that wastes time. if there is no translation for some text yet, I think the text box should just be there. This kind of goes with the earlier one, don't want to have a bunch of huge text boxes... I don't understand why each 'add' is a page submit, an AJAX request would have been much better so the page does not have to be reloaded every time. I should be able to submit multiple translations at the same time, I understand you don't want to let people try to fill out the whole thing at once and then there browser crashers or something half way through. Perhaps you should allow filling out an entire section at a time. Sorry to be so critical, but I got annoyed by these things while I was submitting translations... |

@ Karamorf: Yes, of course I'd like to see your progress with your version of this project. If you would like to send me a URL that would be great. As for the translation tool issues, yes, I agree with every point. The AJAX thing especially has always been high on the to-do list, but always *after* I release v0.7. In the grand scheme of things, translation is something which is done very few times, but used very many times. I *know* it is a pain to use the tool (I'm a UI developer by trade, I hate to think of all the clicking and scrolling you have to do), but I created it as something which will grow and develop into something that will - in the long run - help JAWStats and other projects like it. Thank you again, everyone, for all your hard work. |

| joncombe 551 days ago | Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the translations and update them regularly to start with (i.e. every hour or so if need be). When things with the new release settle down, I'll have it update automatically every 24 hours or so. |

Also, a suggestion for the interface is that it would be nice to have an easy way to copy the English text, as with many of the countries often are not translated. |

1) removing "dead" translations is something I'll look at in future. 2) copying the original text is a good idea, I'll look into adding that soon. |

Another nice thing to add is that you fill in all the fields that you want to translate and THEN press "add" to add them in one time. Saves a lot of refreshes. |
